Here at St. Johns Animal Clinic, we have the capability to process various types of laboratory tests in-house including:
For most other laboratory tests, we send samples to the Michigan State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. We also send samples to many other veterinary laboratories depending on the specific test(s) needed. In addition, we offer allergy testing with Heska's Allercept Allergy Testing & Treatment* program, as well as canine breed and DNA testing with Royal Canin's Genetic Health Analysis*.
Radiographs are a useful diagnostic tool in many situations, such as when looking for a broken bone, arthritis, tumors, heart disease, and more. We have all digital x-ray equipment that allows us to take and process x-rays in-house and have results in just a few minutes. This also allows us to send images via email for expert consultation or if referring to a specialist. Depending on what their intent, we may schedule a time for you to bring your pet in to be sedated before taking radiographs so as to minimize pain and get the best pictures possible.
We also have all digital dental x-ray equipment that allows us to assess the health of your pet's teeth below the gum line as well as looking for abnormalities within the oral cavity.
In certain situations, your doctor may recommend an ultrasound to provide further diagnostic information. In order to provide you and your pet with the best care possible, we offer referral services to Animal Ultrasound Services in Williamston. Call the clinic for more information.
